Greens' troubles hide silver lining
THIS has been a good fortnight for the Greens. That might sound like a strange thing to say, but think about it. They have proved once again that to be a junior partner in government, and a very junior partner at that, is to have an influence out of all proportion to their numbers.
This was shown by the PDs when they partnered with FF for so long, and effectively provided the template for much of that government's economic and social policy. The fact of the matter is that it is better to be in government than out, as the current opposition parties know to their chagrin.
In the past week the Greens have been all over the media defending their party, redefining their policies and generally getting a much bigger profile.
