Goodbye to 2010 and all that
IT'S only good manners to welcome new additions to the family. So hello, Estonia, which started 2011 by becoming the 17th nation to join the euro.
Some might say that's a bit like buying a ticket for the Titanic after it hit the iceberg, especially with financial experts now giving the European single currency only a 20 per cent chance of survival. But if there's one thing you can say for Estonians, it's that they're optimists.
We could learn a valuable lesson from them, as we begin the new year exactly the same way we wasted the old one, by moaning about everything that's gone wrong.
