God help the poor 'quiet' husband

Sunday September 28 2008

It was with DISGUST that I read the French "lady" and her opinion of the Irish. Who does she think she is?

God help her Irish husband of 32 years, as he must be a very quiet man. It must be wonderful to be as perfect as her. Why does she think she has the right to tar all of us Irish with the same brush.

This woman is an absolute disgrace in her bigoted opinions and if the Irish make her so sick why does she come here at all?

Ailish McGrath,

Corbally

BRENDAN O'Connor's remark did not warrant an attack on the entire Irish people. She displayed a malevolent hatred of the Irish race.

Whilst her biased and demeaning rants will not stir a hateful response from me, the very fact that she has appointed herself spokesperson for the rest of the world tells me that her opinions are that of an egotist. I can assert from her comments that she is a self-loathing individual. Her generalisations and attacks on the character of the Irish people are shameful.

She gloats about the virtues of being born in France and displays relief for not being born in Ireland. This leads me to say that France should feel ashamed that she is one of her daughters. Because of her hatred of the Irish people I could suggest that she never grace us with her presence.

***************************

I must say how totally and utterly disgusted I was at reading such horrible and low insults from this French woman towards the Irish people.

I am an Irish national and I have been living in Luxembourg for 24 years. I speak four languages and have grown up in a multicultural environment. The Irish have never claimed to be the best in the world. I wonder did she show her Irish husband the atrocious letter she wrote spilling her hate over the Irish population? Why did she marry an Irishman if she hates the Irish sooooooo much?

M Cummins,

Luxembourg

Four died, apparently from altitude sickness and exhaustion, on one of the deadliest days on the mountain.
