WHEN Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore opted for experience as they chose their Cabinet members 21 months ago, it was with days like today in mind.
Cabinet ministers are coming under sustained pressure from backbenchers on both sides of the Coalition to reverse some of the cuts contained in the Budget.
After putting the €3.5bn package together, ministers are now having to hold the line against a raft of nervous, first-time elected TDs worried about their seats.
