Eilish O'Regan: We still can't count on HSE to rein in lavish add-ons paid to executives

THE extent of the generous top-ups and other perks paid to executives in HSE-funded agencies, including major hospitals and other services, will come as a surprise.

Many of the public have been led to believe that while public service salaries still remain ample at the top levels, austerity and the Haddington Road agreement had outlawed add-ons.

No so, according to the internal HSE audit.
