Eilish O'Regan: Truth was too easily kept from inspectors

IT was only last August that inspectors who visited Rostrevor House nursing home in Dublin wrote that care was delivered to residents in a "respectful, caring and dignified manner".
Feedback from residents and relatives, during the unannounced inspection, was complimentary about the quality of services provided and in particular about the "ambience of homeliness within the centre".
Yet, in the past few days allegations have emerged that one care assistant, who was employed in the home since 2008, was viciously abusive to some residents.
