Eilish O'Regan: Health body inspired to release audit right after small, significant nudge
IT WOULD seem the Health Service Executive (HSE) gave an audit report on salary top-ups to the Dail Committee on Public Accounts without even being asked.
But the decision by the HSE, which is notorious for its level of secrecy, would appear to be a major face-saving exercise.
The report, with its explosive detail, was given to the committee's office last Thursday week. Committee chairman John McGuinness has since expressed his incredulity at the arrival on his desk of the report, which had been unsolicited.
