The interests of the markets and, therefore, of politicians everywhere are intertwined. Inextricably so. It was ever thus.
The moneymen will dictate the fate of Europe. The politicians will follow, some of them kicking and screaming. These were the words of a moneyman last week: "We seem to have entered the last days of the euro as we know it."
