I was in an odd state of mind after the match on Tuesday night, but then like most of the Irish people I had also been in an odd state of mind before the match, and during it.
My post-match reaction was sparked by a switch to ESPN to watch the last 20 minutes of France playing Bosnia-Herzegovina in Paris, a game which seemed to be entirely unlike the game at the Aviva in almost every respect.
Who were these guys, who seemed to be so good at football? What was this strange game they were playing over there in Paris?
