WHEN it was reported during the week that Obama may be visiting Ireland for five hours, before jetting off to London for something important, I felt that here at last was one of those little strokes of good fortune that I was writing about last week, the sort of break that Paddy needs so badly at this time.
Five hours... yes, we might be able to get through that without some terrible eejitry breaking out, and being broadcast across the world.
Five hours... it's still a long time to have him out there, encountering all the gas characters who live in in Ireland of the Welcomes, but it was easily the best deal available.
