Dearbhail McDonald: Blogger who got caught in Moriarty Tribunal web

WRITING in her column in 'The Irish Times' yesterday, former Esat Digifone employee Sarah Carey stated that her first mistake was leaking, to a Sunday newspaper, documents detailing the entire political donations businessman Denis O'Brien had made to political parties from 1994.
The second mistake, one which the TV3 'Midweek' presenter admits was "monumental", was lying to the Moriarty Tribunal about the fact that she had leaked confidential documents given to her by the payments-to-politicians inquiry.
To that duo could be added a third: going on RTE's 'Prime Time' on the night the report was published and submitting herself to the type of grilling by presenter Miriam O'Callaghan that public relations experts advise their clients to avoid like the plague.
