Cosseted colleagues make me ashamed of being part of HSE
Public sector workers need to cop on and scrap the Croke Park deal, writes Florence Horsman Hogan
Because of the Croke Park agreement, I'm ashamed to be a HSE worker at the moment.
Yes, with the moratorium on staff recruitment I know we're coming under increasing fire as regards trying to provide care to our patients/residents.
In my own field, care of the elderly, we're inadequately staffed and overworked -- but at least we have jobs. When I previously wrote about this in the Sunday Independent, there was a massive outcry from my own profession stating that we're professionals and should be paid accordingly. What prats!
