Complacency is our worst enemy as guilty parties stay nameless

NOW that we have had three separate reports on the banking crisis, we are supposed to accept the Irish deserved everything they got; that we simply had it coming. We were all to blame for the economic collapse (so the mantra goes), just as some would insist we are all to blame for each and every social ill, from homelessness to childhood obesity.
Who exactly are the "we" here?
Are we to include the thousands of workers who have lost their jobs and the young people who are migrating in great flocks? Are we to put them side by side with the former directors who took out more than €150m in loans from their own bank, Anglo Irish -- most of which will never be repaid?
