Plans for a celebrity version of TV3's The Apprentice have been "deferred" because of a reported celebrity-drought. "We needed to have high-calibre celebrities but we required them to make a time commitment for a full month," insists a spokesperson for the show.
In truth, however, self-styled 'celebrities' are still 10-a-penny in this country, and remain grossly overpriced. Available at short notice, most would happily devote a month to a TV project. It's telling, however, that the first Irish celebrity gameshow to have difficulty finding recruits is one which requires contestants to do a bit of work.
