INVICTUS, the film directed by Clint Eastwood and nominated for an Academy Award, has a Latin name means "unconquered". It comes from a poem written by WE Henley, an English poet of the 1890s, which inspired Nelson Mandela, the South African leader, who used his 27-year prison sentence to devise a solution for bringing unity to black and white South Africans. He would say that whenever he was in despair he recited this poem to himself.
