HE'S in good shape and is up for the job, whatever the challenges that lie in store -- but he's not the Pope, so don't go expecting daily bulletins on the state of his health.

There was no awkward tiptoeing or throat-clearing around this bedside. The Finance Minister is meeting this latest challenge in the same matter-of-fact way that he's met the great floods of the recession -- with a pair of waders and a sou'wester.
