Brian Brennan: Public anger is getting us somewhere at last
ONE element of The Rubberbandits' song 'Horse Outside', apart from its sheer hilarity, has helped make it a hit with the Irish public (apart from those who prefer to be offended). The key element is anger.
In the video, the hero rails against 'Mitsis' and 'Subis' and their drivers and, in the end, wins the girl and rides off into the sunset with her. Hopefully that won't spoil the ending for the few who have yet to see it.
The Rubberbandits let off a lot of steam, turning anger into laughter, and watching them in action you are reminded just how much pent-up anger there is in the country.
