Brace yourself for clash of the coalition parties

AS FINE Gael enjoys its most fruitful period with voters in 30 years, it is only approp-riate to recall an issue which cast a shadow over the party the last time its number of TDs was in the 70s.
Similar to the present scenario, the Government's primary pre-occupation in 1983 was the national finances, except the then Fine Gael-Labour Party coalition failed to get to grips with the situation.
That lesson is learned.
