Banks at bay as high tide of hubris recedes

Last week's broadsides at the banks should bring home to the Irish Banking Federation how much things have changed, says Tom Lyons

THE Taoiseach Bertie Ahern was on message as he addressed the opening of the Irish Banking Federation National Conference on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, just after 9am.

Ahern was full of praise for the throng of bankers, lawyers and civil servants who filled the hall in front of him.
