A perfect storm at Stormont as first mate walks plank

OVER the last decade, the Northern Assembly has weathered many intense political blizzards -- but yesterday had the makings of a perfect storm.

The Stormont ship does a good impression of a duck -- calm on the surface and pedalling like the devil underneath.

With first mate Robinson faced with walking the plank or his deputy McGuinness leading a mutiny, the good ship seemed bound to hit the rocks . . . yet again.
