Festival organisers have donated 100 tickets to Temple Street Children’s Hospital to help raise vital life-saving funds for sick children.

The first 100 people is visit and donate €500 - or commit to fundraising it - will her a three day ticket for the event.

The three day festival, to be headlined by Beck, Portishead and Paolo Nutini, kicks off on August 29.

The hospital said 100pc of the donation will go to the hospital.

Denise Fitzgerald, head of fundraising said: “We were really touched when Electric Picnic partnered with our hospital on this fantastic fundraising initiative.

“To put it into perspective these 100 tickets will help us to raise €50,000 for our hospital.

“That’s a new dialysis machine or an incubator for a critically ill child.”
