Three children among the dead as Syria attacks IS-controlled town

A Syrian army air strike on an Islamic State-controlled town in northern Syria yesterday killed at least 28 people including three children, a monitoring group said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based organisation, said 19 civilians were among the dead in the helicopter attack on al-Bab, 30km northeast of Aleppo.
Bomb explodes at Italian consulate
A car-bomb exploded early yesterday outside the Italian Consulate in Cairo, destroying several floors of the historic building, killing one Egyptian.

Tributes have been paid to West Wing and Cheers actor Roger Rees, who has died at the age of 71. The Tony-winning actor was familiar to television audiences as British ambassador Lord John Marbury in cult US political drama The West Wing from 2000 to 2005.
