Shop syndicate is on the ball

A lucky syndicate of 21 people from Navan, Co. A SYNDICATE that won €250,000 in the National Lottery are the third lucky winners to come from a newsagents in Navan, Co Meath.

'Tierney's Football Pool's Syndicate' purchased the winning ticket in Tierney's Newsagents, which sold two previous Lotto jackpot winning tickets of €2.7m and €500,000.

Joe Tierney, owner of the shop, is part of the 21-member syndicate who have each pocketed €11,904.76 from the Lotto Plus 2 draw last Saturday.

"This has spread a little bit of happiness and is a huge lift for the town," he said.

The delighted group comprises business people in the town, and they have been buying Lotto tickets together for 26 years.
