Two held over post office robbery
Two masked men armed with a hammer and a knife threatened staff at a post office in County Cavan before making off with a sum of cash.
The men smashed a counter glass panel at the branch in Mullagh at around 12.15pm yesterday and demanded money.
They made their escape with the cash in a blue car towards Virginia.
Two men aged 42 and 30 were arrested a short time later in Bailieboro and are being held in the local Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
