Trunk calls for Rory Lion flood telephone lines

Hoax calls to Dublin Zoo for Rory Lion and G Raffe have sent its telephone switchboard into meltdown, bosses said yesterday.
Up to 5,000 unsuspecting victims of an old, but now resurrected, practical joke are flooding the phone lines at the Phoenix park attraction and proving to be a serious waste of resources.
The victims of the hoax are mobile phone owners sent an urgent message from someone they know, telling them to phone a number and ask for a fictitious person whose name sounds like an animal.
But now anyone taken in by the prank will hear a specially recorded message when they call: "If you are calling to speak to Mr Rory Lion, C Lion, G Raffe or anyone similar please be aware that you are the victim of a hoax message."
