Tiger, tiger, turning right
TWO little boys got more than they bargained for on a recent trip to Dublin Zoo when its most fearsome resident revealed a playful streak.
Dublin boys, Erin Harvey O'Connor (6) from Donaghmede and his pal Sean Elliott (4) from Baldoyle, could scarcely believe their eyes when one of the zoo's Amur tigers offered its paw to them.
Erin's dad Eric, who took this photograph using just his mobile phone camera, said the astonishment on Sean's face speaks volumes.
"They were sitting down on a rock and the tiger was lying there. Erin put his hand up to the window and then the tiger copied him and put his paw up... the shock on Sean's face when he put the paw up says it all. We couldn't believe what was happening," he said.
Dublin Zoo is home to three Amur tigers, the world's biggest cat.
