TD's son remanded on assault, robbery charges

THE son of Fianna Fail TD Sean Fleming was remanded in custody for a week when he appeared at a district court yesterday.
Nineteen-year-old Peter Fleming, with an address at Silveracre, Castletown, Co Laois, was before the court after he was remanded in custody from a special sitting of Portlaoise district court last Sunday, on three charges of indecency, assault and robbery at Tesco car park, Portlaoise last Saturday.
Defending solicitor Declan Breen said it would be the defendant's "intention to enter a plea to the three charges before the court".
Judge Haughton remanded Fleming in custody to reappear at Portlaoise district court on December 3. Deputy Fleming was in court during the hearing.
