Tara heritage day

By NIAMH HORAN

Sunday May 18 2008

An Taisce, the National Trust of Ireland, is holding an event next Saturday that will focus on Tara Valley Heritage, with special emphasis on the environment and ecology.

The day will include information presentations, documentaries, and discussions on M3 issues, with talks from guest speakers.

An open traditional music session is also expected to draw crowds and musicians are encouraged to bring along their own instruments.

New bands are most welcome.

The venue will take place at Tailors Hall, Back Lane, Dublin 8 (just off Tomas Street), and is fully accessible for those with disabilities.

Children will also be catered for with face painting, juggling acts and treasure hunts taking place throughout the day, starting at 12pm and ending at 6pm.

From 7pm until late a traditional music session, as well as an indoor bar and DJ will be there to provide entertainment for the hundreds of expected guests.

Access to the day event costs €5 per person, while access to the evening/night-time event will cost €10 per person (or €5 concession with a day token).

Any money collected will go towards covering event costs.
