Show of class boosts school coffers

MORE THAN €10,000 was raised through a charity fashion show for the upgrade of computers in a school.

Mary Greene, who is the owner of Divine boutique, organised the show in aid of Kilcloon NS in Maynooth, Co Kildare.

"Some of the computers are over 10 years old, so the money will go towards new ones for the students. A lot of my customers' children go to the school so I thought it'd be a good cause," she told the Irish Independent.

Up to 300 people attended the event on Thursday night to check out Divine's autumn/winter collection, modelled by Assets models Sarah Morrissey, Aoife Cogan and Sarah McGovern, followed by an auction and a raffle.

"I am really happy with how it all went. It was a great night and the feedback has been fantastic," she said.

"It has also boosted my sales; we've been out the door all day," Ms Greene added.

Divine -- which has stores in Maynooth and Malahide -- has built a strong reputation on designers such as See by Chloe, Valentino Red, Kate&Ava, Issue New York and a range of small independent labels.
