ROWDY Irish soccer fans could find themselves locked up in Polish stadiums.

Prison cells were included during the building of the new stadiums in Gdansk and Poznan.

They will be used to lock up any violent fans before they are brought to the local police station and charged.

However, stadium bosses don't expect Irish fans to cause trouble on-site.

At the moment Polish stadiums can sell low strength beer -- but it is expected that UEFA will ban the sale of all alcohol on-site.

UEFA will take 'ownership' of all the stadiums in May and will set down its own rules for fans.

UEFA and the local police will decide if parking will be available at the site but the majority of parking is expected to be used by UEFA officials. Additional buses and trams will be put on to bring fans to the stadium.

Security will be tight at each of the stadiums with 175 cameras in use at the stadium in Poznan, where Ireland will play Croatia on June 10 and Italy on June 18.

The stadium -- which seats 43,528 fans -- will have two 116sqm screens inside to show the action on the pitch.
