Pigfume -- the sweet stench of our failure
NAMA employees were holding their noses last night, but for once the stench wasn't coming from toxic loans to developers.
Dublin's Treasury Building, which houses the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA), was the location for the unveiling of a new perfume featuring the 'stench of society'.
The foul-smelling 'Pigfume' was created by celebrity artist Rasher (Mark Kavanagh) as a commentary on the state of the country.
The mixture contains cabbage leaves, Brussels sprouts, horse tail, iris root and a few other secret ingredients.
Rasher, from Bray, Co Wicklow, counts actor Colin Farrell among his fans. He has also worked with the likes of Ali Hewson and Adi Roche.
The limited edition perfume is part of an exhibition of Rasher's work entitled 'Womb to the Tomb'. The 'Pigfume' will come in a box signed by the artist with a print of a painting of Rasher and his heavily pregnant wife Gillian as perfume obsessed characters. It will cost around €150 or €200.
