A REPORT on the Coroner's Court inquest into the death of the late Beverly Seville Doyle was published in the Irish Independent on Wednesday, January 13.
It has been pointed out to us that the use of the word 'alarm' in a headline to describe the action taken by the nurse attending Ms Seville Doyle when requesting a doctor to review the patient as a result of ongoing chest pain, despite several episodes of treatment and tests, wrongly gave the impression of the nurse having observed an acute medical episode requiring immediate emergency attention. This was not what was conveyed in testimony to the coroner's inquest. We are happy to clarify the matter.
