The huge success of the fundraising drive among party members and supporters is seen as further evidence of a turn in Fine Gael's fortunes.
Mr Kenny is also wrapping up a year that saw his party make major gains in local and European elections. Fine Gael's position in the national polls has remained stable with slight gains, but Mr Kenny's leadership has begun to show signs he is making an impact with the wider public.
Last night, chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party, Tipperary TD Tom Hayes, confirmed the party has held its most successful super draw to date this year, raising over ?1m in funding.
Party insiders said the final tally could be close to ?1.2m. At the same time last year, the Fine Gael national draw had raised just under ?1m.
Last night, Mr Hayes said that in excess of 13,500 tickets were sold this year with all constituencies exceeding sales from last year.
"It's been a very successful fundraising year for us, with a sell-out golf classic and presidential dinner which, together with this draw, are indicative of growing support for Fine Gael at grass roots level," Mr Hayes added.
The Fine Gael chairman said the big boost to party funds will position them well as they prepare for two crucial by-elections in Meath and Kildare in the New Year.
It will also ensure the party will be able to build a war chest to fight the next General Election campaign, expected to be in 2007.
