FF to have finger on 'Pulse'

Saturday December 03 2011

First Fianna Fáil had The Nation -- a republican newspaper which only sold around 6,000 copies in the late 1920s. Then came The Irish Press, which was a big success until it shut down in the 1990s.

Then there was The Nation magazine in 2004 -- which was once edited by Conor Lenihan -- and contained big ads from property developers. But it hasn't been seen for a while.

Now Fianna Fáil is preparing to unveil Cuisle. It means Pulse and the promise is that it will be written by members rather than being controlled by party bigwigs.

We're told that 50,000 copies of the first issue will be printed -- and that it's most likely coming out on a quarterly basis.
