Victim traumatised after kick to testicles

Samantha Flaherty at Galway District Court yesterday.
A MAN was hospitalised and went on to suffer from post-traumatic stress and pain for months after he was kicked in the testicles by a 19-year-old woman, a court heard yesterday.
Samantha Flaherty pleaded guilty to assaulting Martin Nohilly (20), causing him harm, and to breaching the peace in a car park in Galway on August 31 last year.
The case was adjourned to give the accused time to pay €1,500 compensation to the victim.
Insp Sean Glynn told Galway District Court a lot of people were watching boy racers perform in the car park of the shopping centre on Galway's Headford Road late at night. He said the accused was part of a group of intoxicated girls.
One of them had words with the injured man, and, as he was turning to walk away, Flaherty, of 25 Barry Avenue, Mervue, Galway, hit him in the face and then kicked him in the groin.
