A 20-year-old man will enter the history books tomorrow when he becomes the first person to be tried in Dublin's new landmark criminal courts complex.
The defendant, Michael Brennan, is accused of attempting to murder James Egan on April 29, 2006, at Cromcastle Court, Kilmore Road, Coolock, Dublin.
His trial will provide a real-life test of the impressive new facilities at the hi-tech €140m complex.
When it becomes fully operational in January, it is expected that up to a quarter of a million criminal matters a year will be processed through the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ) complex.
President Mary McAleese will officially open the facility, which has 22 court rooms, in January.
