Contrite David tries to get back in good books

Friday November 06 2009

Economist David McWilliams officially launched his new book last night -- hours after telling of his regret at some of its contents.

The 'Addicted to Money' presenter publicly apologised to RTE presenter Miriam O'Callaghan over sexist comments about her in the book, 'Follow The Money'. And he also expressed regret over the inclusion of details of private meetings with Finance Minister Brian Lenihan.

At the launch in Bentley's Restaurant in Dublin, Mr McWilliams -- pictured with his wife Sian Smyth -- looked a bit rattled by all the controversy. "It's been quite an odd week. I didn't see it coming."
