A story with the headline 'Lingerie buyer at BTs settles case over dismissal' published in yesterday's Irish Independent was accompanied by a photograph captioned 'Former Brown Thomas buyer Mary Mullin leaves the High Court in Dublin'. In fact, the photograph was that of Ms Aoife Newton, solicitor for IBEC. We are happy to clarify this matter.

Accident staged to rob shop owner

Two bikers staged an accident and at knifepoint robbed the Good Samaritan who stopped to help them.

The owner of a mini-market at Greengates in Dundalk, Co Louth, was threatened at knifepoint after he stopped to help two men he believed had been in an accident.

The men forced him to return to his shop and threatened to harm the man's wife and child, before taking the day's takings. Gardai at Dundalk garda station are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have about the raid.

Funerals of pair killed in Turkey

THE funerals of two Co Down women murdered while on holiday in Turkey last week are to take place later today.

A service for Marion Graham (53) will take place at 11am in St Mary's Church in Newry and a Mass for Kathy Dinsmore (53) will be held in St Peter's Church in Warrenpoint at 2pm.
