Taoiseach Bertie Ahern was in full voice yesterday -- a day before he will have to put on another performance at the Mahon Tribunal.
Mr Ahern joined a civil service choir at Government Buildings, most of whom were drawn from the offices of the Revenue Commissioners. He and chief whip Tom Kitt quietly hummed a few favourites as voices soared above. The run-through involved 'Joy to the World', 'Silent Night', and 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town' -- the latter with plenty of lines open to ironic interpretation.
