Brian remembers the 'good old days' of his health duties
Saturday November 21 2009
Mention the words "Health Minister Brian Cowen" and the word "Angola" is rarely far behind, after his now-famous description of that war-torn department while he was doing a tour of duty in the late 1990s.
But the Taoiseach wasn't too happy with Enda Kenny when he dropped the Angola-bomb in robust exchanges on health. Oh not he didn't, protested Brian.
"I referred to the fact that, although you can leave on a Friday evening with a clear desk, you can trip over a mine and have something arise from left-field that no one ever mentioned."
And the rewriting of history continued as he claims: "I enjoyed it quite a lot."
Obviously he's still suffering from post-traumatic shock.
