Appeal to trace missing woman

GARDAI have appealed for help in tracing a missing 62-year-old woman, amid concerns for her safety.

Pauline Behan from Crumlin, Dublin, was last seen at 4pm yesterday. She is 5ft 5in tall and of medium build with short blonde hair. Pauline was wearing a black padded jacket, blue jeans and brown boots. Anyone with information should contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1-800-666-111.

Rugby star to tie the knot in July

RUGBY star Gordon D'Arcy will marry model Aoife Cogan at Castle Leslie in Glaslough, Co Monaghan, in July.

Ms Cogan (27) has revealed that she has found the perfect wedding dress. "I have got my dress and I love it. I can't even say if it's an Irish designer or not. I don't want to say anything just yet," she said.

Double break-in at Fine Gael TD's HQ

GARDAI have ruled out any sinister involvement in a double break-in at the offices of a Fine Gael TD.

The constituency office of Cavan/Monaghan TD Heather Humphreys at Market Street, Cootehill, was entered on two successive nights at the weekend and the premises ransacked. A garda spokesman said: "It is now believed some juveniles may have been involved." Nothing of any value was taken.

Unstable chemical found in school lab

THE Army was deployed to carry out a controlled explosion after an unstable chemical was found in a school's laboratory.

The chemical -- Dinitrophenylhydrazine -- is routinely used in laboratories but was found to be unstable during a routine audit of the chemicals at Colaiste Chaitriona in Glasnevin, Dublin. The Defence Forces bomb disposal team arrived at the school at 11am and declared the scene safe after midday.

Brothers to be sentenced

TWO brothers who have pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit a theft are to be sentenced in March at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Alan Bradley (38) of Churchfields, Kentstown, Co Meath, and Wayne Bradley (33), of Ratoath Road, Finglas, Dublin, have pleaded guilty to their involvement in a plot to steal cash from Chubb Ireland on November 2, 2007 at Tesco, Celbridge, Co Kildare. They were due to be sentenced yesterday but Judge Patricia Ryan adjourned sentencing until the last week of March after a prosecution request. The brothers were remanded on bail until then.
