Animal gifts 'no use' to developing world

Andrew Tyler told RTE that "cows and other animals are very inefficient ways of producing feed".
"In Europe, because dairy producers are subsidised by the taxpayer, they are able to carry on but even they complain they find it difficult to survive," he said.
Peter Ireton of Bothar denied buying families livestock is a very inefficient way of helping them, adding that milk is a vital source of nourishment.
