The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia officially opened its doors on Friday, September 11, as Ambassador Abdulaziz Aldriss formally presented his credentials to President Mary McAleese at Aras an Uachtarain.
"Our mission in Dublin is an extension to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to further develop our political, trade and cultural relations with Ireland. It is an honour for me to be the first resident Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Ireland, I will make every possible effort to enhance and develop this relationship and encourage trade and investment opportunities for the people in both countries," said Mr Aldriss.

Denny searches for meaning of 'home'
Friendly rivalry broke out between football All Stars Larry Tompkins from Cork and Johnny Crowley from Kerry over which county would bring home Sam Maguire after next Sunday's All-Ireland Football Final, at the launch of Denny's search to find out what home means here.
Denny is inviting the whole nation to share what home means to them, and some of the most interesting stories will be used in their 2010 ad campaign, with each entry resulting in a donation to Simon Community.

a new two-part documentary from TV3, Surviving the Recession, explores how the seismic events of the last 12 months have impacted on people from all walks of life.
The programme makers visit areas transformed by the economic crisis and talk to people facing the biggest challenges of their lives.
The programmes are "strictly free" of economists, politicians, developers and bankers and concentrate on how 'real' people are surviving. They will be aired on TV3 on Thursday September 17 and Thursday September 24 at 9pm.
