Aer Lingus link-up with US airline ready for take-off
ALMOST a year after it was first announced, Aer Lingus is to finally unveil the details of its tie-in with US airline Jet Blue next Friday.
The arrangement will allow Irish passengers to book seamless tickets from Ireland through to 51 of Jet Blue's US destinations.
Announced in principle in February last year, the partnership was originally due to kick in from August.
But a variety of technical glitches forced a series of delays. Aer Lingus is now planning to unveil the final product at a joint launch with Jet Blue.
"It changes the face of access to North America for the Irish travelling public," Aer Lingus chief executive Dermot Mannion said in announcing the deal. "It will also expose millions of US passengers to the Aer Lingus website, and further consolidate aerlingus.com as the premier way to book flights to Ireland from North America."
