A unique union of art and technology
Wednesday July 29 2009
LIBERTY Hall is set to be transformed into a giant television screen as part of a unique art project.
The historical headquarters of the trade union movement will see 330 windows form a massive screen to display artworks created by the public.
Each of the windows will be fitted with sophisticated LED lighting, enabling the window to change colour at night and which will effectively turn them into individual pixels, or parts, of a massive display.
The south and west sides of the building will change constantly as different pictures are displayed over 18 days as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival from September 24 to October 11.
Animations can be submitted on www.daft.ie/playhouse from August 24.
