Travel milestone as Dublin to Perth route unveiled

A breakthrough Dublin to Perth route will be introduced next year.

Etihad Airwarys today revealed they will be commencing the new route from July 15, 2014.

The official airline of the United Arab Emirates will connect at Abu Dhabi, and is offering six weekly flights.

Etiha President and CEO James Hogan said the announcement is expected to boost the numbers of Irish choosing Perth as their Australian destination of choice, with 32pc already travelling there on average.

“Our flights from Dublin to Perth will offer Irish travellers an unprecedented choice of travel options with the convenience of seamless connections in Abu Dhabi,” he explained.

Etihad has 10 weekly flights to Sydney; four to Brisbane and six to Melbourne.

The flight will be  operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 262 seats in total.
