RTE stars do their bit for Debbie

It was like the RTE Christmas party in Clontarf Castle on Tuesday night for the launch of Debbie Deegan's book, To Russia with Love: Changing the Lives of Abandoned Children. Joe Duffy, who lives next door, popped in to wish Debbie well, as did Mary Kennedy, who is travelling to Russia on November 24 on a TRWL fundraising trip.
Saturday Night Show host and LIFE magazine editor Brendan O'Connor gave a spirited speech to launch the book, which was co-authored by our own Emily Hourican, who was also present.
Brendan encouraged people to continue their generosity towards the charity and then introduced Debbie, who spoke movingly of her hard work.
This Friday night, Brendan's opposite number at RTE, Ryan Tubridy is taking his Late Late team to the Acid Jazz 25th anniversary party at the Sugar Club on Leeson Street after his show in Montrose. Apparently Tubs is a big soul and funk fan. Who knew?
