200 properties go for auction in next month

Today details of yet another bumper auction is being announced – the third in the last eight days.

The announcement by Padraig Smith Auctioneers will bring to around 200 the number of properties to be sold under the hammer during the next four weeks.

Lisney will auction seven houses and a pub whose guide prices range from €225,000 up to €950,000. Details of some of these are to be seen in our on view listing on page 4.

Allsop Space is selling around 150 properties on March 1 and about 100 of these are residential.

In addition Real Estate Alliance will auction 25 properties on March 5 and nine of these are residential.

Auctioneer Tadgh Campion plans to auction five Courtown, Co Wexford, properties on March 6 and a Bantry, Co Cork residential restaurant on March 7.

The Courtown properties include three dormer bungalows and a site with permission for a fourth three-bedroom bungalow all with a combined guide price of €150,000. These four will also be offered in individual lots.

Padraig Smith's 16 properties, include houses, apartments and town centre commercial properties which will go under the hammer on March 7.

Located in counties Cavan, Offaly, Monaghan and Longford all are being sold by three receivers.

A number of the town centre properties have had retail use at ground floor and residences overhead so they could present budding entrepreneurs with opportunities to live over the shop or work from home.

One of the more attractive of the houses is 22 Oldtown, Cavan, a five-bedroom semi-detached with a keen €50,000 guide price.

In contrast as much as €175,000 is being suggested for a four-bedroom bungalow on eight acres at Creighan, Ballinagh Road, Cavan, as it has development potential.

Three own-door one-bedroom apartments at Railway Lough, Belturbet, are guiding €25,000 each. They are all in the one block which contains a total of four units.

The Real Estate Alliance auction includes four houses ranging in price from €40,000 for a three-bedroom cottage on its own grounds at Lisacul, Ballagahdereen, Co Roscommon, up to €70,000 for a four-bedroom detached house at The Willows, Clonbalt Woods, Longford Town.

Another Roscommon country residence, located at Carraghs East, Ballinlough, has a €50,000 guide and a two-bedroom townhouse, at 25 Upper Friars Street, Cork City has a €60,000 guide price. It needs refurbishment.

In addition a block of four apartments at Riverwalk, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, has a €50,000 guide as they are unfinished internally. A separate one-bedroom unit at Riverwalk has a €15,000 guide.
