MINI'S Paceman coupe gets a 1.6-litre, 224kmh (215bhp), John Cooper Works range-topping engine to go with its all-wheel-drive sports chassis.
This is the same turbocharged engine as the Countryman JCW. No wonder, as the car is based on the latter.
There's plenty of zip (from 0-100kmh in 6.9sec – 6spd manual and automatic).
The sports chassis sits 10mm lower than the conventional motor and, with larger anti-roll bars and tweaked spring/damper rates, it should provide a cracking drive.
Under normal conditions, the all-wheel drive system allots 50pc of the power to the rear wheels but can give it all to them in extreme circumstances.
