BMW and Toyota have signed agreements aimed at long-term collaboration between them to jointly develop a fuel-cell system, a sports car platform and research and development of lightweight technologies.
New €5m Audi showroom
Audi's dealer network is benefiting from more investment with the latest showroom opened in Naas, Co Kildare.
On the Newbridge road, the €5m terminal-style Audi showroom employs 14 staff but that is expected to increase to 40 over the next two years.
The opening is part of Audi's €80m investment in its dealer network.
The Audi facility has 12 car showroom, 40 used-car spaces and a workshop with six service bays.
Ford profit despite loss in Europe
FALLING sales are being blamed for a fourth-quarter pre-tax loss of $732m (€545m) for Ford in Europe.
The car-making giant expects 2013 to be even tougher. Yet in spite of Europe, the company had a fourth-quarter net income of $1.6bn, which meant the company recorded its fourth straight full-year profit.
Mazda driving back to black
Mazda is poised to return to profit for the first time in five years in 2013, according to reports.
The CX-5, for which there are waiting lists in Europe and the new '6' (reviewed here today) are helping to drive it back into the black.
Both cars have the company's SkyActiv technology.
